Edinburgh Rudolf Steiner School Teacher Training Institute

The Teacher Training Course is a part time course, taking place Friday evening and all day Saturday, over a period of three years.

In the first year students are given an introduction to the basic principles behind Steiner Waldorf Education and the philosophy that informs it, Anthroposophy. In the second and third year the Steiner curriculum is studied in detail. Those students who continue to become class teachers are expected to do several weeks of observation and teaching practice under the guidance of an experienced Class Teacher during their second and third year of training.

In addition to the study components of the training, there are also artistic courses in Eurythmy, Creative Speech, Painting, Drawing. Modelling, Form Drawing and Story-telling, thus a balance of artistic activity and study is provided throughout the course.
