8 March 2011 in Tuesday Notice
CLASS 8 CONCERT – Friday 11th March at 7.30pm in the Hall.
Please come along and enjoy an evening of music with Class 8 pupils and parents. Please note: originally this event was to be a fundraiser for their German Exchange Trip, but hearing about the plight of the Steiner School in
Christ church the class has decided to give most of the money raised at the concert to the New Zealand Steiner School to help with their recovery of the recent earth quake.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
This term, pupils from Class 6 to Class 12 have been busy preparing a dramatisation of C.S. Lewis’s famous allegoric tale. We are offering 3 performances: on Wednesday 23rd, Thursday 24th and Friday 25th March at 7.30pm in the Hall. Please come and support our effort. It promises to be quite a spectacle!
URGENT REQUEST FROM CLASS 8 - We are still desperately seeking accommodation for 3 German pupils who will be “exchanging” with our Class 8 between 19th May and 14th June 2011. If you can possibly offer a room and board to one or two pupils during this time, you will be supported by parents of Class 8 and receive £50 a week to help with expenses. This can be a great experience for younger children in your family and would be hugely appreciated by us. So please do consider it. Contact Anne Fleming if you would like to offer a place or request more information on 0131 466 0356 or email annefleming@blueyonder.co.uk.
KINDERGARTEN FUNDRAISING – We are having a stall at the Friday Market to raise funds for our Kindergarten. Each group will have a stall, the first one on 18th March, the second on 1st April, followed by two more in the summer term. Please come along and support our stalls.
BURSARY FUND – To date the Friday Market Bursary Fund stall has raised £849. I thank you! Please note prices are pretty arbitrary and always negotiable. Never be afraid to ask. If you have anything you think I might be able to sell, please phone me (Ruth Callan) on 0131 667 9845.
The March PTA meeting will be held on Tuesday the 8th at 8:00 in the Handwork room. Please join us to discuss School road crossing, Climate Challenge Fund and other topics of interest. All welcome.
Blue Sky Group. The BSG will be meeting again at the end of March for more fresh thinking and brainstorming. Our agenda this time will cover communication in the school and fundraising and we are keen to hear from anyone within the school community - new hands and old hands, pupils, staff and friends of the school. If you or anyone you know has experience in these areas, please contact Carolyn Grohmann on 0131 443 5818, cgrohmann@yahoo.co.uk or face to face at pick-up time by 22nd March. Many thanks to everyone who has supported the group and contributed so far.
Please note: The School does not necessarily endorse or warrant the following information relating to activities or articles for sale. All notices for inclusion should be signed and dated and handed into the office, with appropriate payment, before 10.30am the preceding Friday. £2.00 for school ads, £3.00 out with.
Dear Parents and Teachers. For my Steiner Education BA dissertation, I am researching how schools fit into the community and have created an on-line questionnaire for this purpose. I would be really grateful if you help me with my research, please visit the website https://sites.google.com/site/schoolandcommunityresearch/
The survey is short; the answers will be confidential and are based around your perceptions which will be very valuable for my work. If you would like any information about my research, or would like to contribute by having an interview, please email: black.ian.j@gmail.com. Thank you, Ian Black
