The PTA February meeting will be held this Tuesday evening at 8:00 in the Handwork Room. All parents and teachers welcome, we will be getting an update on the Blue Sky Group and discussing how to progress the ideas from the groups first meeting.
RED CARPET VALENTINE’S CEILIDH on Friday 11th February at 7.30pm in the Hall.
Class 12 invites you all to come and enjoy the red Carpet Valentine’s Ceilidh. Live Music for dancing; Paparazzi photography; Have your love message read; Refreshments provided.
Tickets on sale at Friday Market and at the door. Adults £5.50, pupils £3.50.

‘GOING GREEN, FOR EVERYONE’ - a drop-in event for advice and information on home energy efficiency, sustainable
transport, local food and other climate friendly things. 9.30am – 12.30pm on Saturday 5th March in the School Hall. Stalls and advice sessions from Energy Saving Trust, a Better Way to Work, local food producers and others.

Art Classes: The Elements, Trees and Spring
To be explored through story, experience, and Rudolf Steiner's training sketches for a 'new art of painting’. A variety of media and techniques will include charcoal, pastels, oils, wet on wet water colour, and veil painting.

Launch of 'Muffins and Musings' - the Young Edinburgh Writers' first book.
You are very warmly invited to the launch of the YEW group's first book of writings, Muffins and Musings, on Thursday 3rd March in the Scottish Poetry Library, off The High Street, at 6pm for 6.30pm start. YEW is a creative writing group for young people aged 13 - 18 years from across the city. Two pupils from the Upper School are part of the group and will be reading their work alongside other members. Do come and celebrate their achievement! There will be homemade muffins and cup-cakes to tempt you even more... Natural Bee-keeping course in Scotland: 7th & 8th May 2011. The rising interest in bees has prompted us to get together with the natural bee-keeping trust to offer a natural bee-keeping course for those who are interested in working with the bees to improve bee health. This will be the first natural bee-keeping course to be held in Scotland and will be held at Deanbank, our smallholding near Biggar (about 45 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh. It will be a two day course and costs £115 including an organic lunch and refreshments on both days.
