If you just can’t wait for the festive season to start then head down to the Edinburgh Steiner School on Spylaw Road for its annual Christmas Market.  Taking place on Saturday 19th November 2011 from 11am – 4pm, this year's Market promises to captivate the whole family. Spark your imagination with a visit to the professional storytellers or relax with a complementary therapy and unwind. Browse the unique range of stalls offering handmade crafts and Christmas gifts or tuck into hearty meals and delicious snacks from the cafes and refreshment stands.

Don't miss special guest and Edinburgh based children's writer Lari Don who will be hosting a special book reading. Author of the award winning "First Aid for Fairies and Other Fabled Beasts," Lari will be appearing at 11.30am.

Families are encouraged to come early and stay all day to take full advantage of the wide number of activities on offer.  Younger visitors will enjoy puppet shows, candle decorating and songs before a visit to the Children's Cafe to enjoy a healthy meal.

Older children can try their hand at candle-dipping, biscuit decorating and wool-crafts as well as exploring the generous grounds of the school. Pupils will also be performing music and songs throughout the day to help to raise funds for the school. With raffle prizes galore and plenty of carols to put you in the festive spirit, enjoy a fantastic day out for just £1.50 per adult and 50p per child. (Some activities will be charged separately).
