Note: The school is off for Advent preparation on Thu 24th November at 1pm and Fri 25th November all day.
WINTER OPENING - During any cold snap this winter the guiding policy of the school will be to remain OPEN as normal. If conditions worsen with heavy snow during the day, parents may phone the school to ask that their children be allowed to go home. The office will then contact the pupil(s). If the office staff receive information that bus services are to be suspended or significantly diverted, parents may also be contacted and arrangements may be made to send pupils home. The school will only close if the snow is a potential danger to staff, pupils or parents, or if public transport is suspended, or if all other schools are closed. Any decision to close the school will be made by The Management Group, if possible by 7am, and a message to this effect posted on the school’s website and relayed via Forth FM. Members of the school community should in any event make safety their first priority. In all circumstances the school office is the first and principal point of contact. Any changes to this policy will be posted on the website or communicated through the Tuesday Notice. Management
A CHRISTMAS CAROL
This year’s “whole school production” is a new musical version of Charles Dickens’ classic performed by pupils from class 5 – class 12. Come and enjoy this heart-warming show and re-live Scrooge’s wonderful transformation at 7pm on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th December. Donations at the door on exit.
BERLINER BUDE – RESCHEDULING.
The bric-a-brac stall will be open for business on Friday 2nd December instead of Friday 18th November.
This is due to preparations for the Christmas Market on 18th and Advent Preparation on 25th November.
Please come and browse our stall on 2nd December and get some Christmas goodies, tea-light holders, soft toys etc.

THE VIENNESE CAFÉ depends on kind contributions and YOUR cake-making skills. So what are you waiting for? Dust off those recipe books and get creating! Your friendly Christmas Market update - Please could you: contact Ruth Callan (07539 902054) to sign up for rotas - she needs you; make beautiful cakes for the Viennese Cafe (Edinholme); make tasty scones, muffins and tray bakes for the Jazz Cafe (Avalon); empty your cupboards of unwanted gifts for the tombola; think expansively about some lovely BIG raffle prizes: watch out for us at this week's Friday Market for raffle tickets and advance sales for some of the events. Christmas Market Preserves Stall
Class 2 welcomes all donations of preserves (jams, chutneys, relishes, flavoured oils and vinegars, etc.) to sell on this popular stall. There is a box in the school office for you to drop off your contributions. Many people buy preserves for gifts, so decorated jars are particularly welcome - though we can also add decoration. Many thanks, Class 2.
CHRISTMAS MARKET COMPLEMENTARY THERAPY SESSIONS at the Edinburgh Steiner School, 11am – 4pm, Saturday 19th November. Shiatsu, CranioSacral, Reflexology, Bowen Technique, Neck & Shoulder Massage, Indian Head Massage and Reiki. £12 for 30-minute sessions, or £24 per hour (Neck & Shoulder Massage £8 for 20 minutes).
