EXAM RESULTS 2010
Congratulations to those Upper School pupils who received exam results in August. This year’s results were some of the best ever. Over 75% percent of results at Higher were awarded a pass at grades A-C. This was, as usual, above the national average. All those sitting Advanced Higher art achieved an A grade. Pupils sitting Intermediate SQA qualifications achieved a pass rate of 87% A-C, with almost all Intermediate 2 English candidates being awarded an A grade, while 72% of results at Standard Grade reached levels 1-3. The GCSE results this year were outstanding, with several candidates receiving perfect 100% scores in art, physics and biology. While 80% of GCSE results were at grades A*-C (against a UK average of 69%), 53% of these results were at grades A* and A, more than double the UK average of 23%. All those candidates sitting AS Level art were awarded an A grade. These results are a well deserved reward for all the hard work and commitment demonstrated by Upper School pupils and their teachers.
