Tuesday Notice no 5 Autumn 2010

28 September 2010 in Tuesday Notice

KINDERGARTEN AFTERNOON CARE - We are now able to offer Afternoon Care for Kindy children from Monday to Thursday until 5pm if required. Dawn Morrison will be the leader of this group.

SPEMNDING GROUP. The Spending Group will be meeting on Monday, 11th October. If you have any suggestions or see a need for improvement that would benefit the school community, please collect a form from the school office and hand it back in by Friday, 8th October.

THE SCHOOL BURSARY FUND is very modest and as a result of exceedingly low interest rates, almost dormant. While we wait for financial assistance from the government (we’ve been waiting YEARS), it’s all we have to assist parents who struggle to meet the full cost of school fees.I’m trying to raise awareness of the Fund and its need to grow. Inspired by Agathe Dawson’s great efforts, I am starting a stall at the Friday Market selling nearly new items (books, clothes etc) and when Agathe is not there, cakes and jam. Please support this stall. Ruth Callan.

CLASS 5 CAKE STALL – Class 5 is going to have a cake stall every Wednesday during lunch break to raise funds for the Olympics Trip to Michael Hall next year. There will be a great selection of homemade cup cakes, biscuits etc. please support us.

POCKET LADY FRIDAYS – we will begin meeting every Friday morning in the Afternoon Care room after drop off.
If you are coming this Friday (1st Oct) it would be good if you could bring ideas, pictures, craft books or examples. Hope to see some of you there. Sarah-Ann & Synnove.

HELP REQUIRED: We got a very positive response to our recent request for help to care for an elderly lady, Mrs Kovacs, who used to work as a eurysthmist and kindergarten teacher in our school. As she is becoming frailer
(though perfectly lucid) we are looking for additional help; either sitting with her (supporting her to the toilet) from 2.30pm – 5pm on Tue, Thu and Fridays afternoons or on an occasional basis if preferred. Payment £6.50 per hour.
In addition we also need someone to sleep over night in her flat (8pm – 7am) for 1 or more nights per week. Payment rate negotiable. If you are at all interested in helping please phone Agathe on 447 9305 or leave a message.
