PIZZA Thursdays – The price of pizzas has not been increased for several years and so, due to increased costs of flour and cheese, we have to put prices up this year. Large pizzas will now cost £1.80, smaller pizzas will now cost £1.20 and out door pizzas will cost £0.80. This will come into effect from Thursday 30th September.

 
PAKISTAN FLOOD APPEAL
Bruntsfield Post Office would like to thank the pupils of Class 4 for raising £258.40 for the Pakistan Flood Appeal. The money raised will go towards providing shelter, food, clean water, clothes and medication.
 
INDIVIDUAL SCHOOL PHOTOS - will be taken on Wednesday 22nd September.
Coldwells, the photographers will be in school on Wednesday 22nd September. They will take individual photos of pupils in Classes 1 – 12. Kindergarten parents may take their children to the school hall (stage entrance) between 12.40am and 1pm if they want their photo taken. Friendship groups photos will be taken to order at lunchtime. Forms for this service have been handed out.
The Kindy Library is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 12.30 in the Kindy garden (weather permitting). Everyone is welcome to browse or borrow. For those who still have books to return from last year, please deposit your books in the box outside Lucilla's classroom. (Box on top shelf of unit, behind pink curtain, outside Lucila's room). CLASS 8 JUMBLE SALE - CLEAR OUT YOUR CLUTTER!
The Class 8 Jumble Sale will be on Saturday9th October 10.30am – 1pm. Donations of good quality clothing, bric a brac, books, CD’s and toys etc will be gratefully received on Friday the 8th October at school. (No large furniture or large electrical items) Thank you. Class 8

HOLIDAY EXCHANGE - Waldorf Family would like to exchange homes for 3 - 4 weeks summer 2011. Our home is located 2 miles from Summerfield Waldorf School and Farm in Santa Rosa, CA. Approx 1 hour north of San Francisco in the Sonoma County Wine region. We live on a 4 acre organic/biodynamic olive tree farm. Will send pictures if you are interested. MORNINGSIDE STREET FAIR – Saturday 25th September 10.30am – 2pm. Stalls and entertainment on Newbattle Terrace and in Columcille. Refreshments, singing, art exhibition, raffle, crafts, storytelling and music by the Columcille Ceilidh Band. Everyone welcome to join us for a while. Event organiser Columcille Centre.

There will be talks by Dr James Dyson on Anthroposophical Medicine, by Philip Shinton on Steiner Education, by Hilary Ruprecht and Martin Dawson on Curative Education and Social Therapy, by Timothy Brink on Biodynamic Agriculture, by Andrew Plant on Community Building and Robert Lord on What do we know about the afterlife?

EXCHANGES WANTED - Hanna Hauss (15 yrs) and attending the tenth grade of the Waldorfschool in Überlingen (Germany) would like to be part of an exchange with a school member from our school. If it is possible she would like to come in the second part of this school year and then somebody could come as an exchange student to live with her and her family.
