On Saturday 18th September from 2 to 6.30pm we'll be celebrating harvest time at the Royal Edinburgh Community Garden.  Come along and help pick apples, dig potatoes and pull up onions.   Then we'll bake potatoes, make soup from the veg patch and juice apples to share.  There'll also be a tour of the gardens for anyone who hasn't been before, or hasn't been for a while, as well as Edinburgh Slow Food's 'Taste Adventure'.   Bring a mug, plate, knife and fork, as well as your wellies.   We're holding this event in conjunction with the other community groups involved in the garden, including Shandon Local Food Group and Slow Food Edinburgh.   Everyone's very welcome, whether or not you've been to the garden before, but please let us know if you're planning on coming by contacting Sonia Theilen on soniatheilen@doctors.org.uk or 0131 466 1683.  Thanks!   Sonia Theilen and Liz Murray

BEING THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE: AN UPDATE
You may notice an improvement in the comfort of the buildings this autumn; during the summer break, draught proofing was installed in the older buildings while the school hall has had its cavity walls insulated. These valuable improvements to the school campus were carried out with government funding as part of the ongoing “Being the change we want to see” project. Many thanks to Keep Scotland Beautiful for the financial support.
