BURSARY APPLICATION - The deadline for handing in your bursary application is Wednesday 12th May.

TESCO VOUCHERS – Tesco voucher action has stopped. Please bring your vouchers to the school office.
POSTER DISPLAY – When you want to advertise an event and put up posters in school please go to the office first. They will inform you to put posters in the areas with a green sticker.
URGENTLY NEEDED - BACKUP INVIGILATORS for the forthcoming exams
The school needs back-up invigilators for the exams coming up in May and June. All that is required of you is to be present, you can bring your book for reading! The dates are May 21st; 26th; 28th am and June 9th pm; 10th am; 14th am; 16th am ± 17th pm; 24th pm. Please contact Mute in the office on 0131 337 3410.

KINDERGARTEN STALL AT FRIDAY MARKET – This stall is to raise funds for Dawn’s class. There will be home baking, plants, herbs, class 1 crayon pouches and goodies from Helios’ Fountain. Please come along and give us your support.
‘THE MERCHANT OF VENICE’ Play by Class 8 on Monday 17th May at 7.30pm in the Hall
Come and enjoy class 8’s Play - A marvellous tale of love, oppression, revenge and mercy – The Merchant of Venice. Admission absolutely FREE (donations after the performance).
LATVIA TRIP/COMENIUS PARTNERSHIP
Our school is taking part in a Comenius partnership with schools (not Steiner) from Poland, Italy, Turkey and Latvia. Two weeks ago a group of girls from Class 9 went over to Balvi, in Latvia meeting pupils from the other schools. You’ll find lots of interesting information about this visit on the following link: http://comenius-edinburgh.blogspot.com. Next January these participating schools will visit Edinburgh.
TEACHER TRAINING COURSE TASTER MORNING
On Saturday May 22 there will be a Teacher Training Course taster morning for all those who want to find out a bit more about the Teacher Training Course that takes place in the school. We will start at 9:30 am and will finish at 12:30 pm. There will be a short talk about the content and structure of the course and some artistic and practical activities.

CAR WASH & IRONING SERVICE on the evening of 17th May while you are watching The Merchant of Venice!
As a fundraiser for their week long Church outing to Chorley in Lancashire, the youth of the Mormon Church offer a car wash service (£4 per car) on the night of 17th May in the Mormon car park from 6.30pm onward. They will be supervised by adult members of the Church. In addition, selected Young Women are offering to do ironing that same evening (again closely supervised) at a cost of £10 per basket (pro-rata for smaller amounts) – price to be agreed at outset. We are also offering to take any redundant/broken mobile phones.
"Colour and Art meet Science”: A talk and workshop with Angela Lord, author of "Colour Dynamics", exploring Art and Colour from a Goethean perspective. Talk: Saturday 15th May 7.30 in School Hall.

SUMMER PAINTING COURSE – Edinburgh cityscapes, moving figures and Portraiture
Three weeks of summer school courses with artist and parent Damian Callan.
19th – 23rd July: Edinburgh portrayed from rooftop views and existing vistas.
26th – 30th July: swimmers, skaters and gymnasts on location and in the studio.
2nd – 6th August: Portraits in spectacular locations of Dirleton & Craigmillar Castles.

Dinghy sailing: For children aged 8 - 14: Saturday 22nd May: half day sailing taster session. Sunday 23rd May: 1 day course to RYA Stage 1 dinghy sailing (requires completion of taster session) Sat & Sun 14th & 15th August; 2 day course to RYA Stage 2 (requires stage 1 certificate) For Teenagers 15+ & Adults Sat & Sun 12th & 13th June, 2 day beginners' course to RYA Level 1 .
