2 November 2010 in Tuesday Notice
NOTE: With this Tuesday Notice there will be a Christmas Market poster for you to display in your area and a small poster for your car window.
TRUSTEES ANNUAQL REPORT
The Trustees Annual Report for the year to October 2010 is now available and is being issued this year for the first time by e mail in pdf format. This saves the school money on printing and postage costs and saves paper in the production. By now all parents and staff should have received a copy by e mail. However if you have not received a copy please send me an e mail to erss.bursar@steinerweb.org.uk and a copy will be e mailed to you. If you do not have access to e mail and would like a printed copy please contact either Karin or Mute in the school office and a copy will be made available. Barbara Stewart, Bursar
LOGOS & DRESS CODE - Please be aware of the dress code. No logos, slogans or big pictures on T-shirts, tops or trousers are to be worn in school. This applies to all pupils.
PTA MEETING -Please join us on Tuesday 9th November at 8 o'clock in the handwork room to discuss Fundraising, Afternoon & Holiday Club, Bursaries and other subjects raised by fellow parents.
CROSSING PATROL - The PTA is very concerned that the City of Edinburgh Council is unable to find the funding for a replacement Lollipop person and cannot persuade nearby Lollipop people manning traffic lights to patrol our unmarked crossing.
To aid the School we would ask all parents to write to their Councillor highlighting this very dangerous position. It does not matter if you do not live in the area but it must be within the City of Edinburgh boundaries.
The following web page gives you the info you need. http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/councillors
Please help by keeping the area in front of the school gates clear on both sides of the road to allow children crossing on their own a clear view. Thank you. The PTA
KINDERGARTEN AFTERNOON CARE
We are pleased to announce that the new arrangements for afternoon care in the kindergarten have proved so popular that they will continue on a permanent basis after Christmas. Details of kindergarten afternoon care are available from the office or kindergarten teachers. Following a request from the PTA, class 1 pupils may join kindergarten afternoon care if this is more suitable for them. A judgement will be made on an individual basis. Management
CLASS 8 EXCHANGE
Class 8 is looking forward to their exchange trip with the Steiner School in Coburg, Germany, but as we are a small class, we cannot provide host families for all the pupils who will be coming here. We are looking for school families to help us with this, providing a home environment for a 14 year old boy or girl for about 4 weeks from May 19th to June 15th. There will be a payment of £55 per week to help with food and bus fares (they will have their own pocket money). There will be support from Class 8 parents and the German teacher who both speak excellent English and know Edinburgh well. If you can offer a place, please leave a message for Mrs Fleming with the school office (337 3410) or email annefleming@blueyonder.co.uk.
