HALF TERM Friday 15th October from 1pm till Wednesday 27th October.
AFTERNOON CARE – There will be NO Afternoon Care on Friday 15th October.
LUNCH MENU FORMS for after the October holiday will be distributed today. Please hand back to the office by Friday 15th October.
LOGOS & DRESS CODE - Please be aware of the dress code. No logos, slogans or big pictures on T-shirts, tops or trousers are to be worn in school. This applies to all pupils.
PTA meeting on Tues 12th October, 8pm. - A new term a new PTA? Please join us for the second PTA meeting of the year. Your participation is welcomed. Eurythmy Room from 8pm. STUDY GROUP – Acceding to a request I shall start a study group on “A road to Self knowledge” as indicated by Rudolf Steiner. This investigation will begin on Tuesday 26th October at 7.30pm and take place fortnightly at 22 Polwarth Terrace. Anyone interested in joining may please phone Karla Kiniger before half term. CALLING ALL JAM MAKERS! Class 2 will be selling preserves at the Christmas Market this year. So please fill up your larders with jams, jellies, chutneys etc. and donate some to the jam stall in November. Thank you. Class 2.
JAM JARS NEEDED for the Christmas Market. Please bring your jam jars (preferably with out labels) to Karin in the office.
POCKET LADY FRIDAYS - We will be meeting every Friday morning in the Afternoon Care room after drop off. It is a lovely way to meet other parents, and gain inspiration from seeing what others are doing. You don’t have to be crafty, we can show you what to do and find a gift for you to make which matches your skills. Alternatively, collecting materials would be helpful. We need smooth pebbles (max 2 inches), acorns, pine cones, beech nut cases, sequins, felt, ribbons and beads. Any donations can be delivered to the afternoon care room on Friday morning. Contact Synnove, Louis’ mum in Caroline’s Class for more information.
Evening Craft sessions for Pocket lady gifts will also be running on the following Wednesdays 27/10, 3/11 and 10/11 at 8pm. If you are interested please contact Sonia on 466 1683.
HALLOWEEN CEILIDH Friday 29th October at 7:30pm
Come and dance with Ghouls and Ghosts, Witches and Wizards at Class 12’s Halloween Ceilidh.
Live Ceilidh Music, Refreshments, Spooky Games. Child £3, Adult £4.
Best Pumpkin competition and Best Costume competition. Tickets available from the Friday Market or at the door.
COMMUNITY GARDEN wildlife and work day, 10-4pm, Sat 30THOctober
Our next work day at the Royal Edinburgh Community Garden will be combined with wildlife walks, to learn more about the plants, animals, insects and birds of the gardens, and Halloween activities. The wildlife walks will be at 10am and then we'll be helping to clear up the gardens ready for the winter. Halloween activities will take place from 2-4pm (organised by Shandon Local Food group, but all are welcome), including apple bobbing, face painting and a turnip lantern competition (bring lanterns ready made for the competition). We have two boys aged 3 and 7, both going in Steiner school in Geneva.We are interested by welcoming a student from a Steiner school in UK for several weeks in our family. For a student willing to learn French and follow his/her course in Steiner-Geneva.

NEWTON’S CLOTHING ALTERATIONS –Newton’s Alterations will be returning to the Friday Market again starting Friday 3rd September. All types of mending /alterations from woolly pullies to skimpy skirts! You can also talk to me about re-covering cushions, making up curtains or that knitting/crochet project you never got round to! If it is more convenient I can pick up or drop off at your house.
