MOBILE PHONES
We would like to ask all parents, particularly of Upper School pupils, to support us to create a healthy learning environment by refraining from sending text messages or making mobile phone calls during school hours. When in school, pupils who must have phones, should keep them switched off and out of sight. Thank you – Management.
CLASS 12 PLAY – ROLLING NUNS – Wednesday 24th June at 7.30pm in the Hall
Come and see Class 12’s final performance! Rolling Nuns is a surreal comedy. Will Gertrude Quelge and Monty Bonto manage to rescue Aurelia Starborne from the evil clutches of Sister Drabchok & the dreaded banalotron machine? Admission free – donations after the performance.
REMINDER – KINDERGARTEN LEAVING FESTIVAL is for all kindy parents at noon on Tuesday 30th June. (there will be no afternoon care). No kindy on Wednesday 1st July. On Thursday 27th August Kindy has an informal welcome for children & their parents at 11.30am for an hour.
WORKDAYS - PLEASE BOOK LUNCH! If you are coming to the workdays and wanting lunch during the workdays you need to book your lunches by phoning the office on 337 3410 by Friday 26th June. We need to know numbers for each day (including children). IF YOU HAVE NOT BOOKED THERE WILL BE NO LUNCH FOR YOU.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR WORKDAYS! Thursday 2nd Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th July.
The workdays will take place after the end of the term. Last year we got a lot of work done thanks to many parents coming forward to help to improve the fabric of the school. There is a great variety of tasks to be done such as painting, sorting out costumes, power hosing the driveway etc. I am particularly interested to hear from parents with joinery skills. Please get in touch with Foppe at school when you can come, or leave a (written) message in my pigeonhole or phone the office on 337 3410.
THE LAST WEDNESDAY LUNCHTIME LIBRARY session will be Wednesday 24th June.
All library books must be returned by that date to enable the P.T.A. to stock take over the summer. So please thoroughly check your bookcases, desks, under beds and elsewhere as some books are very overdue.
ON FRIDAY 26TH June, we are offering you a BIKE BREAKFAST.
All over Edinburgh schoolchildren are encouraged to cycle to school for a week, so if you come in by bike that day, you will get a breakfast boost from 8 am onwards!
Furthermore that same day during the Friday Market we have organised for you a bike maintenance session on the tarmac by Dr. Bike for smaller repairs. Advice will be given if bigger maintenance is needed. No booking necessary/ just bring your bikes along. Both events are free for you, they are paid for by the money made at the bike sale! BOARDING FAMILIES NEEDED - There are still 2 German girls wanting to come to our Upper School as visiting students for the autumn term. If you have space and could offer a place in your family to one of these girls please contact Karin Meys in the school office on 0131 337 3410. We need to let them know before 1st July.

TIPHERETH (Camphill in Edinburgh) - OPEN DAY & SUMMER FAIR Saturday 27th June from 12 – 3pm
Come and join in with the fun at Tiphereth summer fair. There will be children activities, storytelling, crafts, live music, raffle, spit roast and pizzas from the pizza oven. Entrance fee £1. See posters for more information. Tiphereth, 49 Torphin Road, Colinton. Bus 10 takes you there.

IT WAS A DARK & STORMY NIGHT AT THE EDINBURGH FRINGE - Storyteller and Steiner mum Danya Miller, with her Steiner trained colleague Louise Coigley are thrilled to be coming to the Fringe Festival to retell Janet and Allan Ahlberg's well-loved book ‘It was a Dark and Stormy Night’
This show is suitable for children aged 6 plus and all adults who love a good tale! We will be performing at Scottish Storytelling Centre, (V30) High Street, from 7th – 14th August at 13.00 and at Valvona & Crolla (V67) from 15th – 22nd Aug 10.30am (15, 21, 22 August) and 13.00 (16 – 20 August)
