“TWELFTH NIGHT” Play by Class 8
The School performance of Class 8’s “Twelfth Night” for classes 4 and up will start at 1.15pm on Tuesday 17th March. We hope to finish by 3.30pm. Lunch for those classes attending will start at 12.20pm.
 
BOARDING FAMILIES NEEDED FOR April to July. If you are interested in having a foreign student for a term or would like to know more about it, please phone Karin in the Office on 337 3410.
 
BOARDING FAMILY NEEDED FOR WEEKLY BOARDER
Toby, class 9 (vegetarian) is looking for a family to board with during the week (Mondays after school until Friday mornings). At the moment he commutes from Glasgow which he finds exhausting, time consuming, and not good for his social life. He is an independent and easy going boy and would adapt to most families. If you can help (even for a limited period) please contact Fred on 0141 334 9130 (can leave a message) or 07876308144.
 
PIZZA - Please note the outside pizza oven will not be fired Thu 12th March, indoor pizzas will be as normal. 
 
THE PTA SPENDING GROUP - We are delighted to inform you that last year's Christmas Market raised £10,628, which went toward the purchase of a grand piano. You can find a detailed breakdown of all stalls on the Parents Notice Board in Edinholme. If you want to help with this year's market, join the Tuesday morning Craft Group, which is already making beautiful things! And finally, a reminder to everyone – there is a box in the office where you can leave suggestions and ideas for the coming Christmas Market. PTA Meeting - Tonight! Come to the PTA meeting if you have something to talk about – every parent and carer is a member, so you don't need to book. We will be meeting in the Eurythmy Room at 8pm. See you then!
 
PARENTS LIBRARY – The parents Library will be open for lending books out at the first Friday market after the Easter break (17th April). For the next few Fridays the library will be open for the purpose of receiving returned books only. Please return any books you may have borrowed over the next few weeks, this will enable us to complete a stock take over the Easter break. THE WALDORF COLLEGE PROJECT

70th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT
As part of the School’s ongoing 70th Anniversary Celebrations parents and friends of the school are invited to sing in the forthcoming performance of Handel’s choral anthem ‘Zadock the Priest’ on the 30th of May at 7pm. We are honoured to have the Meadows Chamber Orchestra accompanying us and many pupils from class 5 upwards will be involved in this performance. The Meadows orchestra will complete the music programme with 3 or 4 orchestral works. Some ability to read music would be helpful and a minimum of attendance of 4 rehearsals would normally be expected. The rehearsal schedule is as follows: (Each rehearsal will take just over an hour).
Tuesday 10th & 17th March at 7.30pm in the school hall.
Tuesday 28th April, 5th, 12th, 19th May at 7.30pm in school hall
Friday 22nd May at 7.00pm with conductor Peter Evens
Thursday 28th May at 7.00pm with orchestra

The Northern Lights Teaching Conference Returns: Inspirations for Radical Teaching
Teachers, parents and pupils are being encouraged to sign up now for the third Northern Lights Teachers Conference. The two day event will take place from 21st - 22nd May 2009 at the Findhorn Foundation Ecovillage near Forres in Moray, Scotland. This year’s theme will be ‘Inspiration’ and will take advantage of many of the techniques employed by the business world to motive and energise the attendees.  Day one will include a presentation and experiential exercise on Spiral Dynamics – commonly referred to as ‘The Theory of Everything’ - plus an Olivier Mythodrama based on Shakespeare’s Henry V. The play will be used as a model of inspiring and integrated leadership. Dorota Owen, joint organiser of the conference, explains: “The Northern Lights Teachers Conference is all about providing intellectual stimulation, laughter, time to enjoy nature and the opportunity to engage with other teachers from a wide range of backgrounds from across the UK." JOB VACANCY – Full-time Day Activities Co - worker (Mon – Fri) at Tiphereth Camphill in Edinburgh. This post will involve work with adults with learning and physical disabilities, offering a therapeutic programme including craft, art, woolwork, weaving, outdoors activities, cooking and baking. It is preferable that candidates have experience in working with people with learning disabilities and an arts/craft background. Salary is between £15,200 and £16,150 subject to relevant qualification and experience. There are 36 days holiday (fixed dates) per year and after one year’s satisfactory performance the salary rises to £16,500 p.a. plus 5% pension. The starting date is Tuesday the 21st April 2009.
