ILLNESS AND ANBSENCES – To all parents and carers
Please phone the School Office before 9am or leave a message on the answer phone when you know that your child is not going to be in school that day.
To all parents. We have noticed a trend in recent months for some pupils to come into school for just half a day, often from lunchtime onwards. In some cases, pupils have arrived at school in the middle of the afternoon! Rarely, and in a small number of cases, it may be that parents decide that an illness which seemed serious early in the morning should not prevent a pupil from attending afternoon school. However, if a pupil is too ill to come to school in the morning, we would recommend that they take the whole day off and return refreshed the following day. If you believe that a half day is all that your son or daughter can manage, for example, as a gentle reintroduction after a long illness, then this should be arranged in advance with the class teacher or guardian. In most cases the main lesson period would be the best time to start. Thank you for your cooperation. The Management Group
