DRESS CODE - The Management Group, on behalf of the College of Teachers, would like to remind parents that clothing which displays pictures or slogans is regarded as unsuitable for school. Makers’ logos are only acceptable when they are no more than 10 centimetres across at their widest point. We would be grateful if parents could maintain an active awareness of their children’s clothing and help them adhere to the dress code.The Management Group
CHRISTMAS MUSIC IN POLWARTH CHURCH on Wednesday 9th December at 2pm
Parents are warmly invited to join the pupils and teachers for an hour of Christmas Music in Polwarth Church. There will be music by the School Orchestra, singing and Carol singing for all to join in.
SNOWFLAKE BALL Friday 11th December 2009, 7pm – 11pm.
Come and enjoy the Snowflake Ball. There will be Ceilidh dancing as well as other dancing accompanied by a Live Band! There will be a visit from Santa. This is a family occasion for parents and children of all age groups. Children should be accompanied by adults. Smart dress recommended. Tickets will be on sale from the Office and on the Friday Market. Ticket price £ 4 per child and £7 per adult.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING AT THE FRIDAY MARKET
There are still some wonderful items made by pupils and lots of yummy class 2 jams for sale as well as Cotton bags with children’s drawings and school calendars with paintings from Lower School pupils. Look out for the crafts stall on Friday 12th December. All proceeds obviously for the Christmas Market.
CHRISTMAS MARKET EXPENDITURE – expenses claim forms available from the office. Please hand all your claims in to the Office by Thursday 10th December.
FRIDAY MARKET – look out for the African Orphanage Charity Stall. Jewellery, cards and more, excellent Christmas shopping, all proceeds for Africa.
Nearly New Toys and Gifts for Sale at Friday Market. One more week only!
Class 7 are running a useful stall to help you with your Christmas Shopping while fund-raising for their Class Trip. Lots of goodies for sale at very reasonable prices.
Your PTA meeting Tues 8th Dec, 8pm. The PTA are meeting on Tuesday, 8th Dec at 8:00pm the Eurythmy Room. Liz Murray will be giving a short talk on the eco-schools project so come along if you are interested or want to contribute ideas. We are especially keen on extending an invite out to all convenors as this is an excellent chance to communicate with the school more broadly. Look forward to seeing you there. JANIS MACKAY, winner of the 2009 Kelpies prize with her novel ’Magnus Fin and the Ocean Quest’ will soon visit the Edinburgh Rudolf Steiner School. Some of you may remember Janis back in the days when she taught speech on the teacher training course, or performed as a storyteller. She has a diploma in speech and drama (from Steiner House, London) and lives now in the far north of Scotland, devoting most of her time to writing. This book, for children 8 -12 is published by Floris books and will be available for sale for £5.99 at the Friday Market 11/12 at the School Stall.

CADENZA CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Saturday 12 December, 7.30pm in Polwarth Parish Church.
This ever popular concert offers a mixed programme of Carols old and new with special guests Regal Brass.

SANTA RUN – Me and my mum are doing the Santa run. It is a fundraising run, in west Princess Street Gradens on Sunday the 13th December at 11am. It will be for children who are terminally ill. So this money would help them to get the one final big wish! If you would like to sponsor us please give your donation in to Karin in the office. Please give what ever you can.
