A ROSSLYN TREASURY – Official Launch – Wednesday 2nd December 7.30pm

The official launch of Peter Snow’s book A Rosslyn Treasury will take place on Wednesday 2nd December at 7.30pm in the School Hall. If you didn’t manage to get a signed copy of the book at the Christmas Market before they sold out, you will have another opportunity on Wednesday evening, as well as a chance to enjoy some stories, music and light refreshment.
 
SNOWFLAKE  BALL Friday 11th December 2009, 7pm – 11pm.
Class 10 are organising a Christmas Ball on the penultimate week of term. Look out for the posters in the school, programme includes: live music & dancing, performances, games, prizes, Santa, mistletoe etc. This is a family occasion for parents and children of all age groups. Children should be accompanied by adults. Smart dress recommended. Tickets will be on sale from the Office and on the Friday Market. Ticket price £ 4 per child and £7 per adult. Come and get into the Christmas mood.
 
LOST PROPERTY – There is a huge amount of lost property in Woodlands’ cupboard. This will be out on a table in front of Woodlands on Friday 4th December and then be given to a charity shop. There will also be a tray with keys, mobile phones, MP3, jewellery, glasses, etc . Please have a look and claim back what is yours. Thank you.
LOST AND FOUND – a pair of spectacles in black hard box ‘Jai Kudo’ was left in the office.
 
VIENNESE CAFÉ – A big thank you to all the wonderful cake makers, musicians, helpers and washing-up-ers who made the Viennese Café such a great success this year.
 
CHRISTMAS SHOPPING AT THE FRIDAY MARKET
If you are looking for beautiful stocking fillers: we have lots of unsold items from our craft stall, made under supervision of Saskia, our “felt maker artist in residence”! Very good value for money. Furthermore there are some wonderful items made by pupils and lots of yummy class 2 jams as well as Cotton bags with children’s drawings and school calendars with painting from Lower School pupils. Look out for the crafts stall on Friday 4th & 12th December. If you as a stallholder have items left from the Christmas Market to sell, please contact Sonia (4661683) class 4. All proceeds obviously for the Christmas Market.
 
CHRISTMAS MARKET EXPENDITURE – expenses claim forms available from the office. Please hand all your claims in to the Office by Thursday 10th December.
 
BERLIN TRIP FUNDRAISING
The bric-a-brac and paperback stall will return to the Friday Market this week. This first week will be in the form of a Tombola, as well as the book stall. There will be a selection of prizes. Each “try” will be 40p or 3 “tries” for £1. Please support our fundraising initiative.
The “Elite Raffle” open to staff and Classes 11 & 12 raised £130. Thank you to all who bought tickets.

FRIDAY MARKET – look out for the African Orphanage Charity Stall. Jewellery, cards and more, excellent Christmas shopping, all proceeds for Africa.
 
Your PTA meeting Tues 8th Dec, 8pm. The PTA are meeting on Tuesday, 8th Dec at 8:00pm somewhere near the Eurythmy Room (venue TBC). Liz Murray will be giving a short talk on the eco-schools project so come along if you are interested or want to contribute ideas. We are especially keen on extending an invite out to all convenors as this is an excellent chance to communicate with the school more broadly. Look forward to seeing you there. THE KINDY needs strong wooden planks for out door play. Any suggestions/leads? We have a small sum of money for this. Also we are looking for a small wooden boat for our garden. Anyone knows the whereabouts of a wooden rocking horse (on stand) that needs keen riders (rather than gathering dust & antique value!) Please contact Caroline Glas, Kindy or phone 01620 880 382.
