SCHOOL LIBRARY - The library is open at lunchtimes on Tuesday and Wednesday for pupils to borrow books. We have lots of great new fiction titles, and plenty of books for school projects. Please check bedrooms and bookcases for any overdue books from last year. The library is situated on the top floor of Edinholme, opposite the handwork room.
 
P.T.A. - Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 7th October at 8pm in the Eurythmy Room. On the agenda: Committee elections, elections to the Spending Group. Please nominate candidates using the forms attached to this Tuesday Notice and place your nominations in the box provided in the office. Remember, you can only vote if you come to the meeting! Open to all parents from Kindy right through to Class 12. Get involved – it’s your school! We’ll provide the biscuits! There will be the opportunity to nominate candidates in the weeks leading up to the AGM. Watch this space for further notices. You can pick up nomination forms from the office or if you send an email to erss.karin.meys@steinerweb.org.uk I will email the forms to you.
 
GRAND JUMBLE SALE – 11th October 
Now is the time to start clearing out your cupboards and attics! Class 8 will be holding the Grand Autumn Jumble Sale on the morning of Saturday 11th October and we'll be needing any help you can give! Please start looking out jumble now! As we're a small class, if you can offer ANY help on the Friday beforehand and/or on the morning itself, we would be very grateful... Proceeds in aid of the class's school exchange to France. Thank you.

“THE THISTLE AND THE REED” Saturday 27th September at 7.30pm in the Hall
A Scottish Ceilidh celebrating Botswana Independence Day and Scottish Culture, live music, dancing, performances, food and drink and good company. Enjoy each other’s cultures and raise money for AIDS work in Botswana. Tickets £10 per adult. A CELEBRATION OF MOTHERING – Creative Writing Workshop. Saturday 4th October
For those who missed this successful workshop in April, here is another opportunity to celebrate the joys and challenges of being a mother with its lifetime's work in learning to love and let go. The workshop is on Saturday 4th October and offers a friendly supportive environment where each person's contribution is valued. No previous writing experience is necessary and all stages of mothering are welcome. Led by Dorothy Baird, poet, mother of three teenagers and experienced leader of writing groups and workshops. AU PAIR/NANNY WANTED – We are a family of four small children (6 years– 4 years – 2 years - 5 months) and are looking for an au pair/nanny for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. AU PAIR WANTED -   We are a family of five living in Duns in the Scottish Borders and we are looking for an au pair to live with for no less than 3 months, hopefully longer.  Our boys are 6 years, 3 years and 6 months and the older two attend the local primary school and nursery.  The older two boys have both spent time in a Steiner school in London and we would very much like our au pair to have some connection to the Steiner way. We are looking for Monday - Thursday help with the children’s worlds and the running of the house, after drop off on Friday morning (9.45am), the au pair would then be free until Monday. We would like someone to be part of the family sharing the house and meals with us.  We have a lovely big spare room with double bed and we would pay £75 per week spending money.
