MANAGEMENT
For the new School Session 2008 – 2009 Nick Brett will be the Chairman of the College of Teachers.
The Management Group is now made up as follows: Nick Brett; Astrid Maclean; Alistair Pugh and Margaret Fowler.
 
STUDY GROUP FOR PARENTS
There will be a study group for parents and other interested people to find out more about the philosophy behind the education. The theme this term is “ An introduction to Anthroposophy and Rudolf Steiner’s insights into the nature of the human being”
The study group is hosted by Christian and Astrid Maclean and will take place on the following Monday evenings: September 22nd, October 6th, November 10th, November 24th and December 8th.
Time 7:30pm – 9pm. Place 3a Tipperlinn Road, Edinburgh EH10 5ET

EURYTHMY CLASS
There is a Eurythmy class every Monday morning at 8.50am. All parents and teachers welcome.
 
LOST PROPERTY STALL next Friday 19th September lunch time.
Any unnamed or unclaimed items will be given to charity.
 
YELLOW LINES
No parking and no children to be dropped off or picked up on the yellow lines on either side of the road.
This is for the children’s safety. Thank you.
 
THE EDINBURGH AND MIDLOTHIANSCHOOL SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008.
If you have child in class 7 or above who is a strong swimmer and interested in swimming in the above competition then contact Vivienne Mackay on 476 1013 for more information and qualification times for the events. First round is due to be held on Sunday 12th October at Ainslie Park Leisure Centre from 3.30pm to 6pm.
 
CHRISTMAS MARKET CRAFT GROUP meets on Tuesday from 9 am – 10.30am in the craft room in Craigneen. All welcome (but unsuitable for young children). Contact Catrina Valentien for more details. 221 0560.

RECORDER LESSONS – the recorder teacher Margaret Hall, who teaches in the school on Tuesday afternoons, has a few vacancies. You can contact her on 01875 340 188.

THE WORLD TODAY – a challenge for the being of the child. Talk on Sat 13th Sept 2008 at school.
A talk for parents and teachers by Dr Seija Zimmermann, paediatrician and member of the Vorstand at the Goetheanum, Dornach, Switzerland. Saturday 13th Sept at 8pm, at the Edinburgh Rudolf Steiner School, Spylaw Road. Entry by donation.
 
HOW CAN WE RENEW OUR RELATIONSHIPS TO THE CELTIC FESTIVALS…. Talk by Jenny Blayney on Friday 19th September at 7.30 pm in the Eurythmy room at The Edinburgh Rudolf Steiner School. Followed by a PAINTING WORKSHOP on Saturday 20th September 10am – 4pm   ‘Experiencing the Autumn Equinox through painting with oil colours at The Edinburgh Rudolf Steiner School, Cost £25, bring lunch to share. “THE THISTLE AND THE REED” Saturday 27th September at 7.30pm in the Hall
A Scottish Ceilidh celebrating Botswana Independence Day and Scottish Culture. Life music, dancing, performances, food and drink and good company. Enjoy each other’s cultures and raise money for AIDS work in Botswana. Tickets £10 per adult. A CELEBRATION OF MOTHERING – Creative Writing Workshop. Saturday 4th October
For those who missed this successful workshop in April, here is another opportunity to celebrate the joys and challenges of being a mother with its lifetime's work in learning to love and let go. The workshop is on Saturday 4th October and offers a friendly supportive environment where each person's contribution is valued. No previous writing experience is necessary and all stages of mothering are welcome. Led by Dorothy Baird, poet, mother of three teenagers and experienced leader of writing goups and workshops. PTA – Our school’s Parents, Carers and Teachers Association (PTA) meets during the first week of each month. These meetings are open to all parents, carers and teachers of the school, not just committee members- check the Tuesday Notice for dates.
