Kirsty Shinton Wins Poetry Accolade

Kirsty Shinton from Class 10 has received a top prize in the national poetry competition ‘Away with Words.’

Organised by Young Writers, part of Forward Press publishing, the ‘Away With Words’ competition attracted more than 37,500 entries from over 1,300 schools in the UK and overseas. 

Kirsty was delighted to be selected as the best overall poet in ‘Away with Words Scottish Verses’ while her classmate Helen Keller was proud to be one of just four runners-up for the book.

Three more Steiner pupils were published in the book. They were Fidelma Beagan, Tara Wight and Ravita Rittoo. Congratulations to all!
