PIZZA – There will be NO PIZZAS this Thursday as Class 8 are out at the theatre.
 
MESSAGE FROM CLASS 12
This is our final week of providing lunches and we would like to thank all our customers who have helped us raise a healthy sum towards our cultural trip to Greece in the summer. Many thanks also to Garvald Home Farm which has provided the potatoes throughout the year, and also, laterally, the sausages for our hot dogs. Thanks also to those parents of the class who took turns to make the soup for Tuesday lunches. Please note that lunches will continue as normal and will be provided by class 11.
 
CLASS 8 play – a Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare
Class 8 have been working for nearly a whole year on this project and it is about to reach it fruition. Please come and support these young actors & actresses who have put so much hard work into bringing this heart warming, and hilarious play to life.
There will be three performances: Thursday 8th Friday 9th May at 7pm & Saturday 10th May at 2pm. The performance lasts about 1 ½ hours and is suitable for anyone who can sit still that long.
There will be refreshments in the interval - bring your 50p. Come and enjoy!
 
BACKUP INVIGILATORS – The school needs a few more invigilators to help with the exam programme during May and June. If you are able to help please phone Fiona in the office on 337 3410.
 
HEAD LICE – There are cases of head lice found in the lower school. Please check your child’s hair for signs of nits and treat it accordingly.
 
GREEN SUEDE BOOTS NEEDED FOR CLASS 8 PLAY
We would like to borrow size 9 green suede flat ankle boots for the King of the fairies in the class 8 play in May. Contact Corinna Pugh (costumes) on 447 7850.
 
CLASS 12 FUNDRAISING CONCERT
Due to unforeseen circumstances the concert has to be postponed to a later date.  
 
GERMAN CHILDRENS BOOKS WANTED
I am looking for German children’s books (either by German authors or in German translation). The books are supposed to supplement the school library. A small amount of money can be paid. Donations are always welcome. Please contact Karin in the office. Thank you, Sabine Kuhangel.

DAY SERVICES CO-WORKER for The Pentland Group, Tiphereth Camphill, Edinburgh
This post involves working with adults with learning disabilities in our Pentland Group carrying out environmental and conservation work both on our site at Torphin and in the wider community. Salary £15,150. After one year’s satisfactory performance the salary rises to £16,160 p.a. plus 5% pension and 36 days holiday (fixed dates) per year. CAT NEEDS NEW HOME – “Lively”, much loved indoor tom-cat, needs a new home (due to cat-hair allergy). He is 8 years old, neutered, ginger-white, and fluffy. PTA – Our school’s Parents, Carers and Teachers Association (PTA) meets during the first week of each month. These meetings are open to all parents, carers and teachers of the school, not just committee members- check the Tuesday Notice for dates.
