URGENTLY NEEDED: BOARDING FAMILIES for January to April. There are two foreign students (16 y old boy and 15 y old girl) who would like to come to our school for one term if I had boarding places for them. The boarding fee is £15 per day or £105 per week. If you are interested in having a foreign student for a term or would like to know more, please phone Karin in the Office on 337 3410.
CHARITY WORK: As the School’s Charity Co-ordinator, I am always interested to know what initiatives pupils and parents are involved with outside the School. This can be useful for our Public Relations. I am myself taking two months leave in order to go and volunteer at a village called Boikarablo, about 100 km north west of Johannesburg, for people - mostly children, disaffected through the AIDS virus. I shall be away from mid February until mid April. I would like to take them a parcel of stationary and toiletries. You may bring any contribution towards this parcel to my upstairs Kindergarten room. Thank you. Caroline Glas

ECO SCHOOLS - The eco-schools programme is an international scheme spanning 46 countries around the world. Scotland has more eco-schools than any other country, and our school is one of them! Class 7 and class 3 are leading the eco-schools work in our school – starting with looking at energy use and keeping our school grounds free of litter. But there is lots more that we can do and we need pupils, teachers, staff and parents to help us get our Green Flag. Once in each half term we will be holding a meeting for anyone interested in eco-schools. At our meetings we will talk about what we have done so far and discuss our ‘action plans’ for making our school greener. We’ll be looking at things like food, travel, recycling and water use. Our next meeting will be on Friday 5th Dec at 12.20 in the Class 7 hut. Please come to find out more! From class 7 and class 3. For more information visit www.ecoschoolsscotland.org
Please note: The School does not necessarily endorse or warrant the following information relating to activities or articles for sale. All notices for inclusion should be signed and dated and handed into the office, with appropriate payment, before 10.30am the preceding Friday. £2.00 for school ads, £3.00 out with
