Tuesday Notice no 9 autumn 2008
4 November 2008 in Tuesday Notice
Dear Parents, as you are aware the school operates a mobile free zone on the school grounds. The policy is that if pupils are found to be using a mobile phone anywhere on the school grounds, the phone will be confiscated and kept in the bursar’s safe until the end of the school day.
We would kindly request that you support us with this policy by reminding your children of the rule, and also by not using your own mobile while on the school grounds.
Each month the teachers focus on one particular aspect of our school rules, and how we can work together positively with them; for of course rules are there to help us in our social interactions. For the month of November we will focus on the mobile phone rule, but also on how we can demonstrate appreciation for one another. Please help us in our endeavours!
There will be NO talk by Martin Baker on Friday 7th November.

Dundee High School had led the way as a pilot case and they and SCIS (Scottish Council of Independent Schools) worked hard with OSCR at the stage where the Regulator was establishing the basic framework. The rest of the independent schools will be tested soon as part of OSCR’s rolling review.

This writing workshop offers time to explore this journey and honour the many moments that slip by too quickly. Led by Dorothy Baird, poet, mother (of children in the school) and experienced leader of writing workshops.
